For the first time politically interested citizens, constituents, teachers, pupils, students, journalists and interest groups have the opportunity of putting forward their own parliamentary questions to the European Commission or the Council.
Parliamentary questions are an important instrument of parliamentary control. If a Member of the European Parliament puts forward an official parliamentary question to the European Commission or to the Council, the latter are obliged to (truthfully) reply to it within a certain time limit. Parliamentary questions revealed for instance the unthinkable pension privileges for the Brussels elite as well as the tragic death of the first EU-soldier during an incursion in one of the EU-missions.
Every question will be rated by other users. The most popular questions, i.e. the questions that have received the highest ranking from the community will in fact be officially submitted. All the questions that receive enough support from other registered users will be published on the website of the European Parliament as well as in the Official Journal of the European Union. At the beginning of each month the 5 most popular questions will be officially put forward on behalf of the MEP Martin Ehrenhauser.
In order to be able to send and rate questions you have to register. A password will be sent directly to your mobile phone so as to prevent a possible abuse by false accounts. We reserve the right to change and abridge the questions before submitting them.
